For years I've been a fan of this film, and for just as many years I've read this stupid synopsis of the movie, saying it's about people ringing doorbells and killing whoever answers. I don't know who originally came up with this synopsis, but it's WRONG. Johnny Cash pretends to be a salesman in order to get into a bank official's home and hold his wife hostage, so that the official will rob the bank for him. That's it. One of the alternate titles for the film was "Door to Door Psycho". I can only imagine that someone heard that title and wrote the dumb-ass synopsis based on what they IMAGINED the movie to be. Why this synopsis has floated around for so long is a mystery. All in all, it's a pretty slow film, but Cash's scenes are great fun and over the top. BUT NO ONE GETS KILLED ANSWERING THE DOOR.

This film is just plain cool. See Johnny Cash terrorize a house wife! See a super young Ron Howard (Opie Taylor)used as a human shield! Cash's role is actually quite sadistic. A few scenes are every bit as intense as something you might see in a Terentino film. The only complaint I can muster would be about the way the film ends. It feels like you're about to see "END" superimposed on the screen, the story has run it's course, but then the film gives you the full 1950's happily resolved ending. Overall, I feel it is well constructed (sans the very ending), there is a good pacing and I would recommend it to anyone. I thought it was pretty baddass!

The following is a list of films in the public domain in the United States. A number of them are also in the public domain in other countries, particularly those that were published before 1923. I have been thinking to visit resumesplanet source for help in essay on time. This list is not comprehensive, but rather reflects the films on this site.
