Stan & Ollie are in gay Par-ee. Stan's ready to return to Des Moines and their lives as fish mongers, but Ollie has fallen hard for Georgette, one of the ladies who works at their hotel. He proposes, but she's married to Francois, a member of the French Foreign Legion. Ollie drags Stan to the Seine for a suicide attempt, but Francois (ignorant of their connection) tells him to join the FFL & forget the girl who broke his heart. This plan would have worked if Stan didn't ask every 5 minutes if Ollie had forgotten Georgette and if the FFL didn't make them do such laborious tasks. This is a fun film from the later days of L&H, with some great bits. It's always weird for me, though, to see their later stuff, where they're aging. They seemed immortal when I was kid.
