I am not sure if I am artsy enough to review this movie but I think I know a good flick when I see one. This is a good one. Good story - Good acting. It has a good degree of creepy in it. I give it an A for creepy and a B overall. The only big drawback was the sound quality and the fact that I couldn't understand the good doctor a lot of the time.

The always under-budget and ahead-of-schedule Corman had money left over after completing "The Young Racers" and offered sound technician Francis Coppola a chance to direct a quick and cheap "Psycho" rip-off. Coppola wrote and directed the film, but Corman ended up bringing Jack Hill in to shoot some 2nd unit stuff to make it "releasable." The result is an enjoyable Gothic thriller/psychological horror movie, featuring cinema's first on-screen beheading. William Castle's "Psycho" rip-off, "Homocidal" is more fun, but this is worth watching.

pretty interesting piece of psycho-thriller. I remember this being a little confusing, but surprisingly crude and thrilling. 4 out of 5.
